About this event

The Dunoon Dirt Dash spends two days on the Cowal Peninsula near Glasgow, on what its organisers call some of the best gravel trails in Scotland. One past rider summed the area up as a continuous stream of mountain and loch views.

It is a non-timed, self-supported gravel bikepacking weekend: singletrack, gravel paths, forestry roads and cycle paths, some technical sections, and shortcuts on the second day for anyone who needs them. Riders start and finish at the Argyll Hotel in Dunoon and sleep at a camp roughly halfway round, with an evening meal, breakfast and a broom wagon provided.

Like the other Dirt Dashes it is organised by Markus Stitz, founder of Bikepacking Scotland, and run as a friendly, inclusive gathering where riders come away with new routes and new friendships as much as a finish.
