Fellscape Ruka

Ruka in early June means midnight sun and unpredictable early-summer weather, and Fellscape uses both: the routes head out from Ruka village into Koillismaa, past the lakes and rolling fells around Oulanka National Park on what the organisers call endless gravel roads.

The longest option is a standalone adventure: it starts on Friday evening and rides through the nightless night into the remote forests towards Finland's eastern border, with drop bags at the aid stations and a small field. The shorter routes are ridden on Saturday, and you can race the clock, ride with friends or take it entirely at your own pace.

Fellscape, a Finnish organiser that also runs gravel events in Hanko and Pyhä, sells it as gravel with a twist: the prize giving rewards the fastest riders but also determination, helping others and the best Fellscape spirit of the day, and the finish brings a warm meal, a bike wash and time with good people.
