GR Agramunt Gravel Race

GR Agramunt Gravel Race is a young race on the wide, compact farm tracks around Agramunt, in the Urgell plain of inland Lleida. Its first edition was a round of the Copa Catalana de Gravel, and the organisers pitched it as a test of speed, endurance and tactics rather than pure climbing.

The course heads out from town toward the villages of Oliola, Cabanabona, Florejacs and Ossó de Sió, on the edge of the Segarra: short climbs, open cereal country and long stretches where riding in a group pays off. Racers and a non-competitive open ride share the same tracks on the day.

Behind it is GRBIKES Cycling Team, a club from Mataró, working with the Ajuntament d'Agramunt. The first edition was settled in a reduced sprint, which says a lot about the kind of racing these fast tracks produce.
