The Slieve Blooms round of the Gravel Ride Series sets up base camp at Kinnitty Castle, in the low mountains of Ireland's Hidden Heartlands in the middle of the country. The hills are well known to mountain bikers, and the routes stitch together long stretches of forest road with singletrack, grassy laneways and a little county road.

The series presents itself as a collective of one-day gravel rides rather than a race, with marked routes, feed zones and support on course, so riders can choose between a gentle introduction and a long, hilly day in the forest. Riders can make a weekend of it, with Friday evening registration and free camping at the venue.

The Slieve Blooms were one of the two venues the series started with, alongside Wicklow, and in 2026 the event opened the Gravel Ride Series calendar.
