About this event
Ostalb Gravel leaves the classic road routes behind and heads onto the gravel tracks, forest passages and varied ground of the Ostalb landscape around Aalen. The event made its debut in spring 2026, and the local Schwäbische Zeitung reported that its field of around 600 places had filled before the start.
It is run by the team behind the Ostalb Giro, who created it as a standalone gravel event alongside their road marathon. Gravel bikes and mountain bikes are both welcome, e-bikes included, and two signposted routes with feed stations aim to suit ambitious racers and riders who are out to enjoy the day.
The finish turns into a meeting point: the Finish & Friends area brings a bike expo, a finisher party and a café together, so riders, friends and visitors can round off the day side by side.
