About this event

Piemontgravel is a non-competitive, self-supported bikepacking adventure for gravel and mountain bikes, founded in 2019 and built on decades of exploring Piedmont's back roads. There are no rankings and no clock: riders follow the GPX track at their own pace, choose their own departure time, and can sleep at free base camps along the way.

The loops leave from the Villa Moffa base camp outside Bra, the home of the Slow Food movement, and wind through the UNESCO-listed hills of Langhe, Roero and Monferrato: the sandy rocche of the Roero park, white roads past the castle of Grinzane Cavour, Barolo and Barbaresco vineyards, tracks along the Tanaro and the wilder Alta Langa, with some technical singletrack and mule paths on the longer routes.

Food and wine are half the point. Riders gather for an aperitivo of Piedmontese wine and local produce the evening before, breakfast together on departure morning and are welcomed at the finish with craft beer at any hour. The 2026 edition sold out, with riders from 20 countries.
