About this event
The gravel programme of the Roc d'Azur CIC plugs riders into one of cycling's great festivals: what began in 1984 with seven participants now gathers more than 20,000 participants and around 100,000 visitors over five days.
Based at the Base Nature François Léotard in Fréjus, between Roquebrune-sur-Argens and Saint-Raphaël, the courses head into the Maures and Estérel massifs. For the event, riders are allowed through private estates and protected areas that are closed to them the rest of the year, which is why the organisers ask everyone to respect these places and not to reconnoitre the routes.
The formats range from a short, punchy sprint to long non-competitive gravel rides, and between rides the village hosts what the organisers call the largest free mountain bike show open to all.
