About this event

The Bandit is the gravel sibling of Colina Triste, the Burgos mountain bike stage race named after the Sad Hill cemetery from Sergio Leone's The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. Since 2023 it has shared that same wild ground in the Sabinares del Arlanza and La Yecla Natural Park, and in 2024 it hosted the first Spanish Gravel Championship.

Racing starts in Santo Domingo de Silos, a village known for its Benedictine monastery and the canyon of the Mataviejas river, and heads into the high country of the Sierra de la Demanda and Las Loras. It is a Spanish Gravel Cup round on the UCI calendar, yet it keeps a cyclo-tourist category open, so licensed racers and riders simply chasing the landscape line up together.
