About this event

Turin Hills grew out of Turin itself: its avenues, the Po and the hills that rise just beyond the city. The idea is simple and appealing, showing how good it feels to ride straight from home, leave the traffic behind and soon find yourself among woods, small villages and vineyards.

This is an unsupported trail drawn by locals for locals. There are no feed stations, sweep vehicle or mechanical assistance, so riders carry what they need and refill with water in the villages along the way, following white roads past sanctuaries and unexpected viewpoints. The organisers promise plenty of dirt but nothing too technical, suggest a gravel or mountain bike with tyres of at least 40 mm, and admit that the Turinese like their stones.

The ride sets off from Bicierin, a bar and bike workshop in the San Salvario district, and the 2027 edition introduces a new base camp at the castle of San Sebastiano Po, where riders can sleep in a room, a shared dormitory, a bivouac or a tent, eat together and stay on for live music on the Saturday night. The event is supported by ASD BBP Gravel Firenze, the club behind Sterro Appalla, and its 2026 edition took riders over two days to the village of Cocconato d'Asti.
