About this event
The Turkey Burner is Trail Break's New Year ride from the small village of Shackleford near Guildford, a route out across the sandy Surrey heaths to the rockier ground around the Devil's Punchbowl, designed to shake off the Christmas excess.
The well-draining sandy soil keeps the trails rideable even after rain, so expect puddles rather than claggy mud. Loose sand and a few rough sections reward fat tyres, but the gentle profile suits gravel bikes well, and finishers can win random prizes from Lezyne just for checking their ride time.
