Wish One Millau Grands Causses

Since 2022 the Wish One gravel race has been a round of the UCI Gravel World Series, run from the home of Wish One, the bike company based beneath the Millau viaduct. The event village sits under the giant bridge, and the same start lines mix elite racers chasing world championship places with amateurs who simply want to test themselves on some of the best gravel in southern France.

The courses explore the Grands Causses regional nature park in southern Aveyron: high limestone plateaus such as the Causse Noir and the Larzac, cut by deep gorges like the Dourbie. Riders report long stretches of fast, clean gravel on the plateaus, a crossing of the wind-exposed Larzac military camp near La Cavalerie where the ground can turn loose and sandy, and a sustained opening climb that splits the field early.

Expect a fast, intense race in early summer heat, with recent editions decided by seconds among international pros. The shortest route, starting from La Cavalerie and finishing above the viaduct, is pitched as a first taste of gravel racing and as the youth race.
