About this event
Abruzzo Trail MAGS Experience is a self-supported bikepacking journey across one of the wildest regions of Italy, run by ASD Gran Sasso Trail. Riders leave the Adriatic seafront at Roseto degli Abruzzi and head inland at their own pace, choosing where to stop, sleep and eat; it is not a race, and the reward at the end is a finisher award.
The loops cross two national parks, climbing from the coastal hills to the high plateaus of the Gran Sasso and the Maiella before swinging back to the sea along the Costa dei Trabocchi. Mountain huts and small village businesses act as MAGS points along the way, and selected Base Camps offer a place to rest and refuel.
There are versions for gravel bikes and for mountain bikes, and the organisers lean on local hospitality: entry includes regional specialities, refreshment stops and live tracking, so friends at home can follow the journey.
