About this event
Alb-Packa is an unsupported bikepacking adventure on the Swabian Alb, made for gravel bikes. Riders complete two loops defined by fixed checkpoints but choose their own way between them, so planning the route over the Alb's hills, woods and rock formations is part of the challenge; the final checkpoints are revealed a few weeks before the start.
It is run by the cycling section of TV Bissingen, a club whose members coach more than 100 young mountain bikers and also love narrower tyres. The spirit is small and personal: a useful starter pack instead of clutter, a pasta party at check-in and a finisher party with Spätzle, with sleeping spots in the hut or a tent pitch only before and after the ride, in keeping with the self-supported rules.
