About this event

Aquila Gravel is a two-day gravel weekend run by the Liotto family, who have been building bicycles in Vicenza since Luigi Liotto opened his workshop in 1922 and who ran the Granfondo Liotto road event for more than twenty years before turning to gravel in 2023. Saturday belongs to the racers, on a short and fast mostly unpaved circuit that hosts the ACSI national gravel criterium championship; Sunday is an untimed ride open to everyone.

Everything starts and finishes at Lago di Fimon in Arcugnano, one of the oldest lakes in Italy, tucked into the Colli Berici just south of Vicenza. The Sunday routes roll out through vineyards, woods and Venetian villas towards the Monti Castellari, mixing white roads with quiet lanes, and the longer loops follow traces of the Ortogonale, a First World War defensive line that is now an open-air museum.

Food is part of the ride: in 2026 the rest stops were run by local farm producers with Coldiretti and Campagna Amica Vicenza, and the day closed with a final feed by the lake. It is a relaxed, family-run weekend that still gives racers a national title to fight for.
