About this event

Blair Castle Trail Weekender turns the grounds of Blair Castle in Perthshire into a base for a whole weekend of trail running, with races that run from a short woodland loop to an ultra over two Munros.

The routes leave past the front of the castle and into Diana's Grove, a stand of trees said to include some of the tallest Japanese larch and red fir in the UK, before heading up into Glen Tilt. The longer courses climb to the summit of Beinn Dearg, and the Full Tilt Ultra adds Carn a'Chlamain, so runners move from woodland to open glen, hill and mountain in a single morning.

Outsider Events launched the weekend in 2021 and runs it as a festival as much as a race: entry has included music and evening entertainment, guided trail runs, yoga, a bar and catering, with friends and family welcome and camping on the estate. Past runners have described it as well organised, with a relaxed festival feel at the castle.
