About this event
Coal Gravel Race opens the Tour Gravel Race season from the Plaza de España of Llerena, in the south-east of Badajoz. The route heads out across the Campiña Sur, a wide farming country of dehesa and cereal fields, linking quiet villages such as Usagre, Higuera de Llerena and Berlanga on fast, open dirt tracks.
Behind it is Extremeñamente, the team that launched the Tour in 2023 as an independent circuit made by riders for riders, open to anyone and built from the ground up. Their own motto sums up the tone: gravel without posturing.
It is a proper race, and Llerena has hosted both the Spanish gravel championship and a Copa de España round. The shorter Express option keeps the door open for first-timers, whatever bike they bring.
