About this event

The Collio-Brda Gravel Experience is a cross-border ride through one of the most celebrated white-wine areas in Italy: the Collio hills of Friuli and their continuation into Slovenia, where the same landscape takes the name Brda. It is run by B.E.S.T. Project ASD, a cycling association based in Medea that has been mapping permanent bike loops across this territory since 2021.

The terrain is gentle rather than brutal: rolling hills dotted with small villages, rows of vines and white roads, with cycle paths and farm tracks slipping across the old border and back. For the sixth edition the organisers promise three routes that link two countries, two wine territories and three towns, from a family option to a longer Epic loop.

It is not a race and there is no timing; the day is about riding together and the gathering afterwards. For 2027 the event moves from June to April, so that the post-ride party can be enjoyed in cooler spring weather.
