Dalsland Gravel Race

Northern Dalsland is hilly, quiet country, and this race uses it well: lightly travelled gravel roads wind through forest and past a long chain of lakes and small communities, with Bengtsfors as the start and finish.

Camp Dalsland, the Bengtsfors outfit that also runs a canoe marathon and trail and cross-country events, started the race in 2019 as part of a push to build cycle tourism in Dalsland and southern Värmland. It has since grown into a fixture of Swedish gravel: it hosted the national gravel championships in 2024 and is the closing round of the SWE Cup.

It is open to everyone, from licensed elites chasing the podium to riders on a mountain bike or cyclocross bike who just want to finish. On the two longer courses you choose between a timed competition class and an untimed exercise class, ridden, as the organisers put it, for the honour of rolling back into Bengtsfors as a hero.
