Desertus Bikus

An ultra-cycling trail across Spain from the Basque Country to Andalusia, running from 10 to 16 April 2027.

Desertus is framed by its organisers as a trial rather than a race. Riders leave the Atlantic coast and cross some of the toughest and wildest terrain in Europe, all the way to the Mediterranean. There is no peloton and no comfortable rulebook, just a map, a set of mandatory points and everything else left to the rider to invent. The goal is not a medal, it is completing the loop.

The event was born in 2022 from the idea of linking Spain's four great deserts (Bardenas, Montañas Vacías, Gorafe and Tabernas) as a self-supported, self-invented trace. Since then the community has grown edition by edition, and Desertus has become one of the European references for ultra-distance adventure cycling.
