About this event

Dirty Sunday is a gravel day in Northern Zealand built around the Gribskov forest. From the festival base at Teglovnen Nordsjælland in Hillerød, the routes head deep into the woods on wide gravel roads and selected singletrack, before the northern part leaves the trees for twisting country lanes, small gravel paths and farm tracks towards the north coast, then turns south again for the long forest gravel stretches.

It welcomes everyone, from the fast riders chasing the front group to those who come for the scenery, and a shooting range at the midway point gives a chance to win one of the day's prizes. The organisers frame it as a gravel party before, during and after the race, with marshals and traffic officials along a marked course and photographers out on the route.

For 2027 it gains a night-time sibling, Dirty After Dark: one overnight route from the streets of Copenhagen through the forests and countryside of Zealand, roughly half gravel and half tarmac, out towards Hedeland and the Bidstrup forests before finishing alongside the Sunday riders. Both are run by Dirty Series.
