Dusty Gravel La Gileppe

The gravel race at the Gileppe dam is the summer round of the Dusty Gravel Series, a Walloon gravel series launched in 2025 by Sport & Tourism Promotion, the team behind the Belgium Bike Festival and Ardenne Gravel Stages. It is timed with an official ranking, and the start sits right by the lake, in what the organisers call the kingdom of the Lion de la Gileppe, the dam's famous landmark.

From the water's edge the routes head into the Hautes Fagnes Nature Park, one of the wildest corners of Belgium, on winding forest roads and some technical trails with wide views over the plateau. The courses are fully waymarked, so riders can follow the signs or their own GPS.

The race is part of a busy multisport weekend at the lake, with a run on the Friday, the XTERRA Ardennes on the Saturday and La Gileppe Trophy on the Sunday. Riders who prefer company over a ranking can enter the Duophy, a timed but unranked ride for pairs that the organisers frame as a shared adventure rather than a race.
