Franciacorta Gravel is Boost Events' autumn ride through the home of Italy's sparkling wine, a loop of vineyard tracks, low hills and small villages in the warm colours of the season. The organiser bills this edition as its first autumn classic, and the base is the Villa Giuliana winery in Rodengo Saiano.
It is a relaxed, non-competitive day: a staggered 'French-style' start, a welcome breakfast, a halfway stop built around local produce, and a tasting and bike wash back at the winery. Riders are on their own between stops, since the route is unsupported, and the final track is emailed a day or two before the start once the organisers have checked it on the ground.
