About this event

Graean Cymru is the Welsh round of the UCI Gravel World Series, a proper race weekend where the fastest riders in each age group earn a ticket to the Gravel World Championships. It sits in a remote corner of North Wales, so expect wide skies, little phone signal and a field of riders from around the world.

The course circles the shores of Llyn Brenig before diving into Clocaenog Forest, where fire roads roll up and down with punchy climbs, quick flowing sections and a little singletrack. Almost all of it is off road, and the finish runs along the reservoir dam, one of the most scenic finishing straights in the series.

It is run by Glorious Gravel, the UK organiser known for its relaxed sportives, and the same spirit carries into race weekend: a race village by the lake, recon rides and a pasta party the night before, and the chance of a wild swim and sauna once the racing is done. Denbighshire's market towns, castles and coast are close by for anyone making a trip of it.
