Gravel Grit 'n Grind brings the UCI Gravel World Series to the Swedish west coast: a race weekend near Halmstad where the Saturday is an official qualifier for the Gravel World Championships, and elite riders line up alongside age-group racers chasing a worlds ticket.
Halland has no big mountains, but its endless rolling hills keep the racing honest. The routes swing between open farm roads near the coast, quiet lakeside tracks and deep, shadowy forest, with the Sunday heading into the Simlangsdalen valley inland from the city. The event hub sits at Heagard, a few kilometres outside Halmstad, a coastal town known for its beaches, forests and outdoor life.
It is run by the Nordic Gravel Series, and the two days have different moods: a flat-out qualifier first, then a Sunday that can be a race for the series classification or simply a social ride with friends. Friday warm-up rides and a riders' buffet open the weekend, and there is a kids' race too.
