Three days of gravel cycling across Catalonia's wine country, based in Vilafranca del Penedès. The organisers call it "el festival del gravel social" - no bibs, no classifications, no podium. Aid stations at wineries, the bike framed as the excuse to discover the territory across six areas (Alt and Baix Penedès, Garraf, Anoia, Baix Llobregat, Alt Camp).
The 2026 programme spans four days. Thursday is new this year - a wine-tourism opener with micro-routes for everyone, paired with the local Dijous de Vi. Friday's Gravel Nit starts at 18:30, rides into the dark, and includes dinner and tasting at the Mas Muntanyans Winery. Saturday brings the Ancestral 300 km self-supported bikepacking ultra (34.5h cut-off), Rustic Roads (40/70/100 km, mixed-surface), and Bici-O orienteering. Sunday's wine routes are 100% gravel, named for the wine progression: Most (14/22 km family), Blanc (40/60 km), Rosat (100 km), Negre (150 km) with the timed Guava segment.
What makes Gravel Penedès distinctive is that the riding is secondary - the crowd is curious rather than competitive, and the winery stops earn their place on the route. Vilafranca is 1h away from Barcelona Sants by Rodalies (R4), where you can easily hop on with your bike.
