Gravel Primavera Borgå

Gravel Primavera Borgå is the spring opener of the Nordic Gravel Series and the first big gravel date of the Finnish season. It rolls out of Porvoo, a short drive east of Helsinki, onto the historic coastline and the hardpacked gravel roads of the surrounding countryside.

Porvoo's medieval old town gives the weekend its backdrop, and the town has deep cycling roots: the Porvoon Ajot road race has been held here since 1926. The terrain is gentle by gravel standards, with modest climbing and long fast stretches, so the day is more about pace and scenery than steep walls.

Racers and social riders start side by side, every bike type is welcome, and the series team adds a shakeout ride, a podium, post-ride food and an afterparty, which makes it as much a season reunion as a race.
