About this event
Riders know it as Gravmageddon: a gravel ultramarathon born in 2021 beyond the Izera Mountains and the forests around Świeradów and Szklarska Poręba, which its organisers call one of the hardest and most beautiful in Poland. Fewer than 70 riders lined up for the first edition and met the moody Karkonosze weather head on.
The loop crosses Poland and Czechia through the Karkonosze, the Izera Mountains and their foothills, the Bóbr Valley, the Jelenia Góra basin and the Rudawy Janowickie, on gravel, forest and farm roads, with start and finish in the same place. It is mountain terrain, and every rider carries a tracker supplied by the organiser.
It is run under the GravOn banner, whose motto is adventure, challenge and friendship, alongside two sister ultras, Three Countries and Along The River.
