About this event

Great Lakes Gravel is a self-supported long-distance ride through the Masurian Lake District, starting from the heart of Mikołajki. The organisers describe it as a touring rally with an edge of competition: every rider carries a GPS tracker, passes virtual time checkpoints and rides without outside help, leaving the route only to eat, sleep or find a bike shop.

For its eighth edition the team promises the most stretched-out loop in the event's history, reaching corners of the Masurian Lakeland that the race has never visited, while the Klasyk keeps the mix of surfaces and climbing that riders praised in 2026. The bike is your choice: the FAQ says gravel bikes are not compulsory and some riders even line up on road bikes.

It is the September finale of a small family of gravel rides from the same team, alongside Lakeland, Sudovia and Varmia Gravel, and its results archive goes back to 2020, so many riders return year after year to the lakes and gravel roads of north-eastern Poland.
