About this event

Heathland Gravel is the European doorway to Unbound Gravel in Kansas. Flanders Classics created it with Life Time as the first official Unbound qualifier, and on the long route riders chase coins for Emporia: half are handed out on performance over the timed sections, the other half by lottery among those who finish in time.

Home is the Terhills domain in Maasmechelen, in the shadow of the old mine shaft, and the route heads through the Hoge Kempen National Park, 127 square kilometres of heath, forest and sandy tracks. The organisers promise mostly unpaved riding, about ten timed sections and plenty of dust.

It is a full weekend rather than a single race: social rides on Friday and Saturday, live music in the event village, and shorter untimed routes for riders who simply want to enjoy the best gravel Limburg has to offer.
