About this event
The HERO is a mountain bike marathon in the Dolomites that its organisers bill as the toughest in the world, and it is a round of the UCI Marathon World Cup, so amateur riders line up on the same day as the elite field. The 2027 race is the 17th edition, and the HERO is set to host the UCI Mountain Bike Marathon World Championships again in 2030.
Everything starts and finishes in Selva in Val Gardena, with three courses of different length through the mountains around the valley. New for 2027 is the HERO Team category, which rewards groups who ride the race together, and the race weekend comes with a bike festival in the village.
