About this event
Hydra is the Epas crew's unsupported bikepacking challenge across the Baltic states, built on a trail the organisers say took them 17 years to piece together, and for 2027 it sets off from Elva in southern Estonia and heads south through Latvia into Lithuania.
The trail is a restless mix of technical cross-country singletrack, long fast gravel sections and ever-changing forest roads, threading river valleys, bogs and nature parks. Riders check in at a series of checkpoints and choose how much of it to take on, with the full route finishing in Druskininkai, Lithuania.
Hydra has run through several editions, and after recent starts in Suwałki in north-east Poland, 2027 flips the journey to begin in Estonia. The organisers' aim is simple: enjoy the landscapes of the region while putting a real challenge in front of yourself.
