About this event
La Stelvio Santini is best known as a road sportive up one of the Alps' most famous passes, and its gravel ride takes the same weekend off the asphalt the day before, onto the dirt farm and forest roads around Bormio. It is a non-competitive cycling event run by the local club Unione Sportiva Bormese, with a limited field.
Almost the whole course lies inside the Stelvio National Park, between roughly 1,200 and 2,000 metres, which is why riders are asked to carry the GPX track rather than rely on signs at every junction. The long route climbs through Boscopiano to the Cancano lakes, a hard but beautiful ascent, and the organisers recommend gravel tyres of at least 40 mm for the steep and technical sections.
The 2027 weekend marks the 15th anniversary of La Stelvio Santini, and riders can combine the gravel day with the road ride up the Stelvio on the Sunday.
