About this event

Matschfuss is the gravel ride series of the Kiel-based Plattfuss Podcast, built on a simple idea: a gravel event should be the best day you can spend on two wheels, not a race. There is no timing, no ranking and no podium, and riders set their own pace and pauses.

The Flensburg edition heads to Germany's northernmost corner, where the organisers promise heathland, gravel and pine forest under a wide, salty sky, and the route may slip across the border into Denmark, so riders are asked to carry ID. Roads stay open to traffic, and riders are expected to look out for each other along the way.

Checkpoints with food and a repair service are part of the day, and the team puts real effort into the catering. Matschfuss events like to surprise, too: the organisers mention touches such as a popcorn machine in the woods, a candy bar on the course or live music at checkpoints.
