About this event
Matschfuss Österreich, nicknamed Der Almauftrieb, brings the Kiel-born gravel ride series of the Plattfuss Podcast to Austria for the second time, with camp pitched in Ternberg in Upper Austria. Saturday's main ride loops through the forests and valleys around the Kalkalpen National Park, with mountain views and a few climbs that riders will feel they have earned.
The weekend opens on Friday with the Kaiserschmarrn prologue, a short and very steep climb to a mountain hut where the view and a plate of Kaiserschmarrn wait at the top. Like every Matschfuss it is a ride, not a race, and the organisers promise proper regional food on the way instead of bars from a packet.
