MB Gravel Ride has opened the Decathlon Gravel Series season in Mladá Boleslav, where drop-bar riders get their own category inside a mountain bike race. Gravel riders line up in a separate start corridor and roll out at the same moment as the bikers, so the day has the energy of a full race while staying a simple, one-day start-to-finish format.
Everything revolves around the Krásná louka grounds in Mladá Boleslav, which the organisers describe as a great base, and the course itself is billed as an easy one to follow, a friendly way into gravel racing. The entry pack even includes a voucher for a proper meal once you are done.
The series is run jointly by Petr Čech Sport and Kolo pro Život, and it deliberately skips a classic points table: the idea is simply to bring gravel riders together at events with a good atmosphere.
