About this event

Mother North is a self-supported journey through Norway, with nothing provided between start and finish. Riders follow a fixed track, resupply only from shops and services along the way and plan their own sleep. The manifesto is short: respect the land, ride fair and keep yourself safe.

The loop from Lillehammer mixes fjords and high plateaus: the Rallarvegen navvies' road towards Finse, the hairpins of Myrdalsvingane where most riders end up pushing, the Snow Road over Aurlandsfjellet and the gravel of Grimsdalen between Rondane and Dovre. Highland villages, Flåm and the medieval Borgund stave church lie on the way, and in August the light lasts deep into the evening.

It is a small independent event that releases places in waves and keeps discounted spots for women and gender-diverse riders, so the start line stays mixed.
