About this event
The Mourne Way Marathon takes runners through the heart of the Mourne Mountains in County Down, on mountain trails, forest tracks and open countryside between the seaside town of Newcastle and Rostrevor on Carlingford Lough.
For 2027 the event is billed as The Other Way: the established route is run in the opposite direction to previous years. Half marathon runners take the event bus up to Fofanny and run back down through rugged mountain terrain and forest, while the ultra now turns at Rostrevor and leaves out the Long Road section at Spelga.
