Musai Spectaculos

Musai Spectaculos is a spring weekend of trail running and mountain biking in Făgăraș, run by the Asociația Copiii Universului Magic under its Alergăraș banner, whose stated aim is to bring runners from all over Romania to discover the Țara Făgărașului. Saturday belongs to the runners, and 2027 adds a Sunday of Pedale pe Ardeal MTB races for the first time, with the organisers calling that first field its founders.

The courses head across the Olt onto the hills that locals call 'pe Ardeal': grassy ridges above the river's wetlands with the Făgăraș Mountains as a backdrop, forest roads, and a loop through the yard of the old fortified church in Felmer. Runners face a climb steep enough to feel like a wall, while riders get a stretch of single track along the river, technical terraced descents and long flowing runs down into the villages.

Everything revolves around the Făgăraș Citadel: the bike races roll out from its courtyard under the archway, and the runners finish with a partial lap of the lake that surrounds it, so the weekend ends in the historic heart of town.
