Niederrhein Gravel Race

The Niederrhein Gravel Race is the competitive sibling of the Niederrhein Gravel ride: a short, demanding race on varied tracks through the Reichswald forest on the Lower Rhine, held in early winter.

Riders race several laps of a marked and marshalled forest circuit, with a time cut after the first lap, so the pace is high from the gun. Gravel bikes and mountain bikes are both allowed, and the event village sits at the riflemen's club house in Frasselt, right across the road from the start.

It is run by TriFUN Kleve, a triathlon club from the Kleve district that set out to bring the gravel scene to the Lower Rhine, and this is the first edition of the race, alongside the club's non-competitive gravel day in the autumn.
