Oncogravel

Oncogravel is a team solidarity ride from Palamós, and a fundraiser first: every team raises money for the Fundació Oncolliga Girona, which works alongside people with cancer and their families through psychological support, home physiotherapy and many other services.

Riders enter as teams and ride a relay on dirt roads and paths through the Baix Empordà, the Gironès and la Selva, with at least three team members on the road at any time. The format lets stronger and less experienced riders share the day without anyone being left behind, and the terrain is designed for any reasonably fit cyclist rather than seasoned racers.

It is a collaboration between the Fundació Oncolliga Girona, Gran Fondo Community in Palafrugell, which runs routes and logistics, and the Ajuntament de Palamós, as part of the Palamós Outdoor Sports Festival. The event has grown quickly since its launch, and the donation total keeps climbing every year.
