Orient Gravel Mielnik opens the season of Orient Gravel, a series of small, friendly gravel races across eastern Poland. It starts on the Bug, where the river draws one of the most picturesque meanders on the map of Poland, and open panoramas alternate with stretches of the Mielnik Forest.
The organisers call this round the complete one: scenic, historical and thoroughly oriental, in keeping with a series built around the magic of Podlasie, eastern Poland and the old borderlands. Start numbers are drawn at random, so everyone begins equal and the rest is written on the road.
Orient Gravel is run by the team behind the Maratony Kresowe MTB series, which has organised races in eastern Poland since 2009: 183 races and around 65,000 participants over fifteen seasons.
