About this event
Sauerland Gravel is a round of the German Gravel League, raced on laps around Bruchhausen, a small village in the Sauerland at the foot of the Bruchhauser Steine, one of the best known rock formations in the region. The local sports club TuS Germania Bruchhausen organises it as part of its own summer calendar.
The loop heads straight into the heart of the Sauerland, passing the Langenberg, the highest point in North Rhine-Westphalia, on wide, fast gravel roads and through dense forest. A short detour by a ski lift is a reminder that winter usually rules these hills.
Racing is split by ambition: PRO races for high-performance riders, age-group races where you measure yourself against your peers, and OPEN races aimed at newcomers without a licence. A kids' race and an e-bike tour make it a day out for the whole family.
