About this event
A gravel marathon in the high Alps above Sestriere, raced on the same Saturday as the Assietta Legend, the historic mountain bike race that reaches its 39th edition in 2027. It is a proper timed race under federation rules, set in the valleys that hosted the Turin 2006 Winter Olympics.
From Sestriere the course drops down the Chisone valley through Pragelato, then climbs a well-kept dirt road through pastures and conifer forest to the alpine basin of Pian dell'Alpe. From there it joins the Strada dell'Assietta, the high dirt road that rides the ridge well above 2,000 metres past Colle dell'Assietta, Col Lauson, Col Blegier and Col Basset, before a final descent on the Gelindo Bordin trail back into town.
The race is part of a full off-road weekend in Sestriere, and riders who want more can pair it with the Granfondo Sestriere road ride over the Colle delle Finestre the next day.
