About this event

Slovakia Divide Classic is the original mountain bike line of the Slovakia Divide family: a self-supported ride across the whole country, from the foot of the Little Carpathians in the west to the village of Beňatina on Slovakia's eastern border. It is built for analogue mountain bikes only, and the organisers are clear that it is not an official race but a timed bikepacking event where riders cover the route on their own strength.

The route strings together a long chain of ranges: the Little Carpathians, Tribeč, the Štiavnica Mountains and Javorie, then the Muráň Plateau, the Stolica and Volovec hills, the Slanské vrchy and finally Vihorlat. The planners chose it for remote places, beautiful nature and long ridges, the kind of country few people would think of crossing by bike.

Behind it is a small group of bikepacking enthusiasts who have now run six editions and want every rider to come away with a journey they will not forget. Help between participants is allowed, but sleeping and food are each rider's own business, with a generous time limit for finishing.
