Slovakia Divide Gravel

Slovakia Divide Gravel is the gravel line of the Slovakia Divide family: an individual, unsupported, nonstop bikepacking race across the whole of Slovakia, from Modra in the west to Beňatina at the far eastern end of the country. It first ran in 2025 as a gravel alternative to the classic Slovakia Divide, which is a mountain bike route.

The organisers pitch it at a gravel bike on wider tyres, or a mountain bike on fast, narrower ones, and the line climbs hard from one mountain range to the next. Riders carry everything they need and are on their own from start to finish, with no outside help allowed.

Behind it is a group of bikepacking and long-distance enthusiasts whose own first bikepacking trip was a crossing of Slovakia, on frame bags they made themselves because none were on sale. After riding the Carpathian arc, the Caucasus, the Alps and the mountains of Central Asia, they set out to lead riders to the most beautiful, little-visited corners of their country; they also run the Carpathian Mountain Race.
