About this event

The Headstock is a long, self-supported mountain bikepacking loop from Rogerstone through South and Mid Wales and deep into the Cambrian Mountains, built to be a proper mountain journey rather than the easiest way to cover the distance. Remote bridleways, rocky trails, open moorland, forestry gravel and old Roman roads take riders past the Elan Valley, Fan Fraith and the Afan Forest.

All Mountain Adventures is clear that this is for experienced riders who can plan their own food, sleep and resupply and fix their own bikes, and it recommends a hardtail or full suspension bike over a gravel bike. Riders are tracked throughout, with one staffed checkpoint along the way.
