About this event
The Swiss round of the UCI Gravel World Series starts on the doorstep of the UCI's own World Cycling Centre in Aigle and climbs into the Vaud Alps, on the very roads that will host the UCI Gravel World Championships in 2029. A top-quarter finish in your category earns a qualifying spot for the 2027 Worlds in Châtel, just across the border in Haute-Savoie.
The day splits in two. First come fast plain tracks across the Rhone valley with the Dents du Midi as a backdrop, then the race leaves the valley for the mountains: forest sections, open meadows, 4x4 tracks and steep ramps lead to a demanding final climb and a new finish at the Col de Bretaye above Villars-sur-Ollon.
The event first ran in 2024 under the name Gravel Suisse. For 2027 the organisers have reworked the routes with more gravel and less climbing, and the gravel race closes a three-day weekend that also brings the Swiss round of the UCI Gran Fondo World Series to the region.
