About this event

The Southern Divide is a self-supported, mixed-terrain crossing of southern England, from Land's End in Cornwall to Rochester Castle on the Kent coast. The route strings together ancient byways, old mining trails and World Heritage sites, long gravel sections, the open moors of Devon, coastal downland and stretches of the South and North Downs Ways.

Riders pick one of two paces: a fast option for experienced ultra riders willing to ride through the night and bivvy in fields, and a slower one that leaves time for the scenery, campsites or a bed. The organiser is frank that it is tough, rocky in places, very hilly and full of hike-a-bike, and suggests a hardtail or a gravel bike with the biggest tyres it will take.

Be Your Adventures is a woman-led organiser that actively encourages more women into ultra riding, and past riders describe a friendly event where participants look out for each other, with everyone camping together at the start and DotWatcher commentary for family and friends.
