The Untamed Norfolk

The Untamed Norfolk is the gravel ride of the Pedal Norfolk festival, based in the grounds of the Holkham Hall estate in North Norfolk. The routes mix quiet country lanes with bridleways and off-road tracks under the big open skies of the county, with a good share of every loop off the tarmac.

It is a relaxed, non-competitive day: gravel bikes are ideal but mountain bikes, hybrids and e-bikes are welcome, and the feed stops are stocked with drinks and snacks. The organisers warn roadies that the longer loops can feel much longer than the numbers suggest on their first gravel outing.

TPR Events is a community interest company that plots, tests and risk-assesses its own routes and runs its events with volunteers. The Norfolk ride reached its fifth edition in 2026 and has a sister event at Pedal Suffolk, while the Holkham Trophy gravel race on the same estate makes it easy to turn the festival into a full weekend.
