About this event
Tierra Estella Epic Gravel was set up by riders for riders, with the stated aim of becoming a reference on the gravel calendar with a personality of its own. It is strictly a gravel and cyclocross affair, apart from a small allowance of e-gravel bikes and mountain bikes in the touring version. Licensed racers chase a chip-timed result under the eye of Navarre federation referees, while everyone else rides the same well-signed tracks with no pressure beyond their own.
The setting is Tierra Estella / Lizarraldea in western Navarre, which the organisers call a paradise for cycling of every kind. Where the club's MTB event shows off the area's singletrack, this one turns to the farm tracks, quiet back roads and concrete lanes that cross the comarca in every direction, with unpaved track making up most of the ground. Back in Villatuerta the day closes at the San Ginés sports hall with a shared meal for riders and volunteers, showers, massages and a bike wash, with inflatables outside for the kids.
Behind it is Club Deportivo Lizarraldea MTB, the local club that also runs Tierra Estella Epic MTB and publishes its own library of Tierra Estella Epic Tracks so visitors can explore these paths the rest of the year. The gravel event first ran in Villatuerta in 2020 and has been held every spring since.
